About the Book
Viktor Krykun leaves Ukraine and establishes a new life in Britain. His opposition to the Russian regime eventually places him in the sights of the Kremlin.
His organisation helps dissidents and opponents of the Russian state escape to the West. His activities eventually bring him into conflict with powerful people who do not forgive opposition.
When Viktor is poisoned with polonium-210, his daughter Eileen is devastated. But grief soon becomes determination. She promises herself that she will avenge her father’s death.
Years later, Eileen has developed the education, language skills, contacts and determination required to enter a world of international espionage.
Her path leads to Pete Chandler, an experienced Assassin with his own reasons for targeting the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Their motivations are different. Their target is the same.
Together with Greg Davydov and a wider network of contacts, they begin developing a plan.
The mission will require intelligence, money, access and extraordinary courage. It will also require them to outthink one of the world’s most powerful security establishments.
The First Attempt
The operation takes the characters across international borders and into increasingly dangerous territory. Every piece of intelligence matters. Every contact could expose them. Every mistake could end the mission.
The Kremlin’s security apparatus is determined to prevent an attack, while the conspirators must remain hidden long enough to get close to their target.
The Second Chance
When the first attempt fails to achieve its ultimate objective, Eileen refuses to walk away.
Her father’s death remains unresolved in her mind. Her promise remains. And she is prepared to take a much more direct role.
